EAL news

Last month we were very busy learning about the different language we use for measuring and sizes. First we measured our feet to see who had the biggest and smallest feet, and whose feet were bigger or smaller than others. Then we measured how tall we all are to see who is the tallest and the shortest, and who's taller of shorter than the others. We found out that Hikaru has the smallest feet and he is the shortest in the EAL class.

Cube line

This bunch of boys worked together to build and make the longest line of cubes imaginable. The line went from one side of the room to the other. They seem very pleased with themselves.

EAL - how animals move & what they feel like

Over the last two weeks Hikaru has been learning about how animals move and the different words that he can use to talk about it. We have been playing games, singing songs and using the interactive whiteboard to help with his learning.

Hikaru has also learnt about what different animals look like and feel like, and we have been matching the animals to their skins using pictures, and objects to help with learning.

He has done very well to remember all the new words and make sentences. He has had lots of fun learning!

EAL - zoo animals

Hikaru has been learning about the names of the different zoo animals this week. We have watched a video about going to the zoo, and he was able to say which animals he saw. He could also name some of the animals that he saw in the slide on the board.
Today we did some revision on last term's work with patterns, using zoo animals. Hikaru did very well to remember how to make a pattern. We also played a board game to learn the zoo animals of the alphabet, and he tried very hard to remember the new words we learnt. He must keep up the good work :)

If you would like to make an appointment to speak with me at the parents evening next Thursday, please do.

Test my teacher

Hikaru has just come back from the holidays and has decided to make sure his teacher Mr John has not forgotten all his letters. Hikaru told Mr John to sit down and listen to the sounds he said. Then Mr John had to write them correctly before Hikaru moved onto the next one. It's OK, Hikaru said Mr John was good at writing letters.
